Role of FDRC
The Financial Dispute Resolution Centre ("FDRC") is an independent and impartial non-profiting making organisation in Hong Kong dedicated for resolving eligible monetary disputes between financial institutions and their customers.
Established in November 2011 as a non-profit company limited by guarantee, we commenced operations in June 2012 with the support of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).
We provide fair, efficient and accessible alternatives to court proceedings for resolving eligible monetary disputes. Our core service is delivered principally through the Financial Dispute Resolution Scheme ("FDRS" ), which embraces a "Mediation First, Arbitration Next" approach. Where appropriate, and in accordance with our Articles of Association, we operate relevant pilot schemes to support the provision of fair and efficient dispute resolution services within our mandate.
